Some characters in this story most recently appeared in "World Tattoo Day" in the March edition of JJ Rose's Holiday Heat.

Shawn wasn't much into art, which was interesting given that he was a graphic designer and presentation builder at work. He just couldn't get into going to museums, though; people thought he should stand around and stare at the paintings or sculptures or whatever, but he was able to look at them quickly, process them, and move on. It drove Julie crazy; she loved going to museums, spending hours taking everything in. She also enjoyed other forms of art, like poetry -- which Shawn, though a voracious reader, did not care for.

But one Monday at work, Julie got a call from the front desk that there was a package for her. It turned out to be a bouquet of flowers with a card from Shawn that read:

Haikus are easy

But sometimes they don't make sense

Refrigerator

And, below that:

Happy International Haiku Poetry Day. I love you.

Julie smiled and brought the flowers back to her desk before taking a picture and posting it to her Instagram. Then she texted Shawn. Thank you. They're lovely.

You're welcome. I hope you like the poem too.

I know you didn't come up with it.

No, but I did look up a bunch of them before finding the most ridiculous one I could possibly put on the card.

She chuckled. Good job.

Julie kept looking at the flowers for the rest of the afternoon, between phone calls and emails and meetings; Shawn rarely went in for showy gestures, but sometimes he surprised her.

So that night she surprised him back, sitting on his face without being asked to -- she loved doing it, but it always felt weird bringing it up; she would do it whenever he told her, though -- and riding it until she came. Shawn was in heaven, she knew; it was his favorite position for oral sex. It had taken some time for Julie to become comfortable with it -- she wasn't a small woman, and she'd been afraid to smother him. But Shawn knew what he was doing, and he accepted the risk. "What a way to go," he'd joked the first time.

He didn't make jokes about it anymore, though. Now he grabbed her ass, buried his face in her pussy, and gave her orgasm after orgasm until she couldn't go anymore, until there was a huge wet spot under his head. They'd definitely have to change the sheets again.
