Annabelle

It was crazy to know that I use to hate working out but now, since I wasn’t working and no one had called me for an interview yet, I spent most of my day at the gym working out and practicing kicking boxing and self-defense. After several hours, I walked back to Jason’s apartment covered in sweat, I didn’t want to take a shower at the gym today, it was hard enough to stay away from Arik and not beg him to fuck me until I couldn’t think straight. I really wanted tonight to be about me and Jason and I didn’t want to screw that up, so I ended my training session a couple hours early. It’s been a stressful couple of days being away from him, but he pissed me off and I needed to breath.

The last several days I have mostly spent my time with Arik at his gym or wondering around the local library getting lost in books. I was partial to a series about magical fae that went to fancy academies to learn to use their magic and I was trying to get through all the books without checking them out. Knowing my luck, Jason would have been searching for me and he knows that I enjoy a good book. If he persuaded the librarian to run my name and saw that I was checking out books, maybe he would have been there to stalk me and corner me before I was ready to deal with him again.

He was being a dick and I understood to an extent why. But damnit, I missed being around him and I knew today was going to be a hard day for him. I needed the space the past several days, he was holding information from me, and I really didn’t like that. It made me not trust him and I really wanted to be able to trust him. I knew that I needed him in my life, but I was still trying to figure out the other pieces of this crazy situation.

It was spitting rain outside, the sky was gloomy, Jason should be taking his test and I shouldn’t be expecting him for a couple more hours at least giving me plenty of time to get showered, changed and dinner on the stove before he arrives. A little surprise for him instead of him coming home to me gone and the place still empty.

I walked into the main entry and headed for the elevators in the back of the lobby, the wet floor sign had fallen over with the wind that came in through the door, so I picked it up and sat it by the information desk before getting to the elevator. The lady at the desk didn’t look up at me like she normally did which was strange, she was usually very happy and cheerful. The color in her cheeks would always match the color of her highlights in her hair, always reminded me of a tree changing color in the fall.
