Was I a fool to be doing this?

Absolutely.

Only an idiot would believe anything that Maddox Reed said regarding love and relationships. The guy’s reputation spoke for itself. He’s never had a girlfriend, and this unconventional thing between us had started out as petty revenge on his part and nothing more. He’d made that perfectly clear in the beginning, so it wasn’t like I hadn’t known what I was getting into.

So, why did I want to believe him?

For Christ’s sake, it’s only been three days of ‘dating’, and I was already caving like I had no concept of pride or willpower. As Maddox’s teeth pulled at the tender flesh of my neck, marking me again, I realized that I really was no better than all the other girls at Windsor. Against all my better judgement, I was doing this with Maddox because he felt just so damn good.

“Maddox-”

“Shh, baby,” he whispered against my neck. “Let me make you feel good.” All I could do was moan as I felt his hand on my bare flesh, sliding up the inside of my thigh.

Lying next to me, instead of on top of me, Maddox had access to every inch of my body, and I knew that Maddox wasn’t going to let me hide from this. The lamp was going to stay on, and we were going to do this over the covers. There’d be no modesty in this room tonight, and I wasn’t sure how I felt about that. While David had always praised my body, he hadn’t exactly had better. Normal people dated normal people, so imperfections were expected. Maddox Reed was anything but normal, and I’ve seen the girls that he’s slept with. Maddox has had perfect, and he’s had it enough times that he didn’t need to settle for less.
