WE ARRIVED BACK at the Academy around ten on Wednesday morning. Elena had to go back in, I was ordered to stay put, but Emanual went with her. The council came, and everything went as planned. They didn't expect a thing. She brought a few of the scouts out that had new information for King Helmut, and Elena had to swap them with a new group.
Tomorrow's rehearsal was going to be good for both of us.
We immediately jumped back into classes.
I wore my shades and was glad that none of the professors asked me to take them off.
Fuck, news spread fast.
I trained her that night again, and I had to admit that I felt more like myself every morning. My fire was getting stronger, too, as I played with it the way I had when I just received it. Every day it was getting stronger and stronger, and I felt less cold.
I was busy shaking off that hell hole of darkness and lightning. But at night, I still dreamt about it.
After the training, I walked Elena back to her room.
I hated saying goodbye to her, especially tonight.
I was starting to hate the academy more and more.
We had to be careful as Master Longwei could literally lurk around the corner watching us.
"Sweet dreams, Princess."
"Yeah, yeah," she said and rushed up the steps.
I really felt so off-balance when I entered my room and found George on top of his bed, reading a book, waiting for midnight to sneak into Becky's room.
Fuck it. I won't be able to sleep tonight if not next to Elena.
Around twelve, I walked with George to the window.
"You're going to give me a hand?"
"Fuck off, let's go."
"And leave this beautiful room empty."
"I don't care. Move it before Chong comes knocking on the door." I scolded him, and he lifted himself up on the roof.
I followed him after I closed the window with my telekinesis and switched off the light.
We walked as softly as possible on top of the roof. I glided down the gutter toward the fourth floor. George followed.
My hands burned, but my healing ability was already bussing, meaning that the burns would be gone in a few hours.
Becky's window was opened by an inch, and we slipped through it.
"Shhh," George whispered as I knocked off Becky's lamp and caught it before my sister woke up.
But she was snoring, very lady-like.
We both chuckled softly at it, and I walked to Elena's bed and crawled in next to her.
I was still drained and fell asleep faster than I possibly thought I would.
