‘He really is lovely, isn’t he?’ she whispered softly as they left the palace. ‘No wonder Sparkle has his posters up all over her bedroom wall. If I wasn’t so painfully shy, I would have asked him for his autograph.’

‘Yes, well, shall we talk about that shyness?’ Olivia sighed. ‘Eliza and I both owe you an apology, Margot. We made a mistake and thought you’d been cursed to be clumsy but we see now that it was shyness that was your curse all along.’

‘Oh, boo-hoo, it’s true!’ Margot wept so hard that her hot cheeks began to produce gusts of steam. ‘I’m dreadfully, awfully shy and I would love to dance and be a star, but I’m too afraid.’

‘It’s not your fault, Margot,’ Eliza said kindly. ‘It’s the curse – and now that we’ve figured it out at last, we’re going to find a way to set you free.’

‘Absolutely!’ Livvy agreed.

‘We haven’t given up on you,’ Eliza insisted. ‘We’re going to unbind you. Aren’t we, Livvy?’

‘Absolutely!’ Livvy confirmed.

‘Oh, thank you, girls! That means the world to me.’ Margot swished her tail with joy, and as she did so there was an ominous sound of a stone bust falling and cracking on the ground.

‘Gosh, I actually was clumsy that time,’ Margot blushed.

‘Never mind!’ Eliza said. ‘Margot, perhaps we should get out of here?’

‘Absolutely Triple-Absolutely!’ Livvy agreed. ‘This new curse is going to prove hard to beat and if we’re going to win the dance contest, we’ll need a cunning plan.’
