In a brief moment of pre-conference room panic, Mark had signed into his web browser’s personal user profile. This synchronised his work browser’s profile with that of his home computer. That meant browsing history, website URL autocomplete, passwords, and much more had been instantly updated from everything that had happened on his home computer since the last time he’d logged in.

During the presentation, Mark had switched out of Power Point and into his Google Chrome browser. His intention was to show several important sites in the Williams brothers portfolio, talking about ways to increase their leverage and maximise return on investment.

Instead, he’d been left red faced as he started typing into the URL bar, and several deeply embarrassing autocomplete entries relating to interracial sex had shown up on the huge presentation screen for all to see. In a fumbling misclick he’d accidentally opened a page Helen had been browsing recently, bringing up a video preview of DeShawn Brown with his huge black rod impaling a petite white girl Mark had not immediately recognised. Of course he’d closed the browser as quickly as his trembling fingers had allowed. But the damage was done. No amount of back pedalling could get him out of this one. Even though he had been allowed to continue, he could see from the way heads were in hands that the board members and other company trustees had written off the deal, and more to the point, Mark’s future employment within the company.

Even without the pornographic disaster, prepared as he had been, Tyrone’s presence had completely thrown Mark. Whereas he thought he recognised Tyrese from Lexingtons back home in Birmingham, it had become immediately clear at the point of introduction that his almost identical twin brother Tyrone was the one that had danced with Hazel. He wasn’t just in Lexingtons, he owned Lexingtons. Or more to the point, the Williams family owned the Mulhaven Group, which owned Rebel Revel Breweries, which owned multiple tens of pubs and nightclubs dotted throughout the UK and Ireland, of which Lexingtons bar in Birmingham was just one going concern.
