EIGHT

Morning came. Tegan was still in bed with Billy. Despite his disappointment over having normal sex, her company had been nice. The bed was extra cozy with her there. But there was something more nagging at him even as he opened his eyes to greet the new day. Tegan had not once shown any interest in any of the clown accessories in his room. He felt used. It was as if Tegan had only wanted him for his body, and cared nothing about his true passions and inner self.

She came awake as the alarm of her cell phone sounded off.

“Oh, hey there, Billy-boy,” she said, leaning over to give him a kiss. “Hell of a fuck last night. I’d sure like to do that again.”

“Me too.” Billy wondered if he was lying. Maybe they should do it again. Maybe Tegan just wasn’t as extroverted as Camille. Maybe she was afraid to ask him about all his personal passions. Maybe she’d grow to love the clown thing. So many maybes. “I’d love that.”

“I wish I could stay and go another round with you, honey. But I’ve got to get home quick and shower. My shift starts in less than an hour. You working today?”

“Nope. Another day off.”

“Come visit me at the coffee shop if you want, honey. Now that we’ve fucked you get free drinks. And I’d really love to see you again. I could lie here and cuddle with you forever.”

“Sounds delightful. I just might have to make a trip to visit you.”

“Please do. I’ll be missing you and thinking about you all day.”

Dammit. Why does she have to be like this? All the things I want from Camille I’m getting from Tegan. Hmm. Maybe I can have both of them.

Tegan hopped out of bed and slowly pulled her thong up her legs. As she did this Billy realized her body was almost identical to Camille’s. He watched her get dressed just the same as he did with Camille yesterday. The only difference was that when Tegan left and told her to text her soon, he felt like she meant it. With Camille, he felt she hadn’t been genuine. Just as that thought appeared in his mind, his phone rang. Camille’s name was flashing on the screen.

“Hello there,” he said.

“Hey, Billy. What’s up?”

“Not much. You?”

“Sorry for calling so early.”

“That’s fine. What’s up?”

“Sorry I missed your texts last night. Sorry I missed your show too. Anyways, I was wondering if you were free today and wanted to go for a walk in the woods.”

“Hell, a date? I’d love to.”

“A what?” asked Camille.

“A…date?”

“Umm no. It’s not a date. It’s a hangout, but even that is too much of a label for me to put on something. But would you like to do that?”

“Shit, of course I would.”

“Pick me up at 1:30?”

“Sure. I don’t know where you live though.”

“I’ll text you my address.”

“Okay, sounds good. Should I wear something slutty?”

“Oh, Billy,” laughed Camille. “Yes.”
