5.4.2 Trait Theory

Trait theory is close to the great man theory. This theory is used to anticipate effective leadership. The identified qualities with physiological attributes like appearance, body mass index and statistics such as age, education, family background, intelligence are compared to prospective leaders to determine their leadership success. This theory focuses on the qualities of intelligence, integrity, sociability and determination. Trait theory focuses on innate qualities that makes a person a leader. This theory advocates that leaders and their traits are the key to the success of an organization and focus on the leader and avoids the follower.
