Chapter Six

When I entered the darkness of the bunk room, I heaved a huge sigh of relief. I wasn’t relieved to be away from Rael, just from the tension that had been building the more we talked. I regretted that it couldn’t have gone smoother. If I was to get involved with someone again, I wanted to be able to connect with the person. I didn’t want to have to pretend to be someone I wasn’t. I wanted to feel free to show my darker side, like when I was with Tess. Thinking of her didn’t help the state my cock was in. I nearly laughed aloud at the audacity of my body trying to betray me like that and wanting more after everything I’d done with it tonight. In the matter of a few days I’d become an insatiable sex fiend.

The image of Tess, her lithe body arching as man after man plundered her, came to my mind. My hand went to the small knot at my hip and slid my pants to the floor. I stood there, naked in the darkness. I found my stiff cock, and I stroked it at my leisure. If anyone came in, he or she would be sure to catch me, but then, that person would likely be Rael, and that wouldn’t be so bad.

As though I’d conjured him just with my imagination, Rael entered the cabin. I could see his sleek form through a gap in the towel that served as a door. He moved about in the kitchen as though he were searching for something. I considered going to him. I’d walk up to him, place my hands on his shirtless chest, kiss him with the passion welling in my heart, then move to my knees, strip him of his towel, and suck his cock like I’d seen Tess do. I’d pull him into bed with me, and together, we could explore the desire I sensed we shared. I pumped my cock, ready for him.

When he drew near to the doorway, I stepped back involuntarily, then caught myself, bracing for him to enter and see me like this. I could hear his breathing as he lingered, could see a sliver of his magnificent profile through the gap. I thought he might be listening for signs of movement from within, but perhaps he was still deliberating whether to come to bed. The door to the room next to the one I was in opened, and I saw Rael grow tense. I heard Tess’s soft voice and Rael turn to greet her.

Neither of them seemed aware that I was standing just beyond the towel. I held my breath, and a cool bead of sweat trickled down my chest. Making polite conversation, she inquired about the fire. I saw her fingers grip the towel, hold it while she talked.

Eventually Rael moved away, making up excuses to return to the beach. When I saw his shadow move away, heard his footsteps cross the floor, and away from the bunk room, my heart sank.
