Jesus Tempted by the Devil

IN the desert Jesus fasted for forty days and forty nights. He was hungry. The devil tempted Jesus by asking Him to change stones into bread. Jesus refused. Then the devil promised to give Jesus riches if He would adore him, but Jesus would not do this or anything else that was wrong. So the devil went away.

When the devil tries to make you do what is wrong, pray to Jesus who will understand and help you.

2nd SUNDAY IN LENT

On the Mountain

PETER, James and John climbed a tall mountain with Jesus. There they saw Him as they had never seen Him before. His face shone as the sun. His clothes were white as snow.

A voice from heaven said: “This is My beloved Son; hear Him.” The apostles were afraid. Jesus touched them and told them not to fear. When they climbed down the mountain, Jesus told them not to tell anyone what they had seen until after He had risen from the dead.
