Office Relief

I was working late on Friday afternoon and the outer office was noticeably quiet. I glanced at my watch and it read 6:30 p.m. Everyone had gone either home or out to bars to celebrate Friday and the weekend. I had just returned from my week traveling the Midwest calling on our customers, most of whom I had secured for our company. I was top sales associate and proudly displayed the “Top Sales” plaque for the seventh year in a row on my desk. I did that just to remind the big boss who it was making him look good to corporate leaders and shareholders. I know that he didn’t like me, and he had often threatened to fire me because of our past run ins.

He did not like the fact that his administrative assistant enjoyed my company, but common sense won the day and I knew that I was relatively safe, as long as I continued to produce big sales for the company.

“Hey Blake, I see you’re working late again. How was your week on the road? Was it successful? More importantly, did you miss me?”

I looked up and gazed into the eyes of Mrs. Madeline Belmont. She stood there in front of my desk smirking. She was wearing a short tight black skirt and a contour fitting yellow sweater that showed the outline of her shapely breasts. She was standing with one hand on her hip that was thrust slightly to the side in a provocative pose. She reminded me of one of the female movie stars that I saw in some of the black and white movies that I watch on Turner Classic Movies. Madeline was in her mid-40s, but my God…!

She walked over to me as I sat behind my desk. I knew what she wanted. It had been two weeks. I rolled my office chair out from behind my desk and swiveled around slightly so that she could sit across my lap. She loved to do that, and we sometimes came close to being seen. Thank God the HR Director was already gone for the weekend. He was nearly the first out on a Friday. I guess that he could only stand so much bitching during the week that he was the first to eject from the office to find comfort in a glass at a local bar.

She sat across my lap and put her arms around me. She leaned in and whispered into my left ear, “Is that your phone in your pocket or are you just glad to see me?”

I smiled while watching the gleam of her huge diamond from her wedding ring. I played with it while she whispered in my ear.

“My husband flew to the East coast today and catches a flight to Paris in the morning from New York. I’ll be all alone tonight and all weekend. Next Tuesday, my sister is coming to visit for a few weeks so you can see that my free time is going to fill up soon.
