Some say that Buddhism forbids enjoyment. This is simply not true. Even the strictest forms of Buddhism allow taking pleasure in harmless things that don’t lead to further desire. Buddha never said pleasure was not pleasing. He merely said that for most of us, pleasure is ringed round with pain, and that the fulfillment of desire does not satisfy the ongoing desire itself.
