Chapter Twenty Two

Kit

A week.

It had been a week since I’d returned to My Warrior’s dreams, and I had yet to take it a step further. Part of the week we spent creating our own home away from reality. As dull as it sounded, it was rather fun watching her come up with ideas. She would close her eyes as if to picture it in her mind, and it would slowly manifest before us. All of it was created from nothing and turned into something solid and strong.

It was certainly a gift I was quite jealous of because in this world; I held nothing of value. I couldn’t create anything to make her happy. Instead, I had to rely on her, which was an idea that would unsettle me in the real world. However, here I could just be, let her take control and watch her make magic.

During the week of creating our home away from home, my classmates, along with Volke and his mate, traveled to the southernmost part of the Bergarian lands. These lands were new and not heavily mapped. This territory held the land of the orcs, the newest species that had joined our land since the Dark War.

King Osirus had stumbled upon them when dealing with a hostage situation long ago and luckily for us, the orcs were willing to help with the war with the promise to remove the wall that separated our lands. The wall that kept the Forbidden Forest hidden away came down, and the orcs now roamed freely. Unfortunately, the ogres that also lived within their land were now scattered about the country. Some were friendly enough anyway, but others had become dangerous and would have to be disposed of.

“Does he always look like that?” I was torn from my thoughts as one orc, known as Sugha pointed straight at me. My friends had been talking non-stop to the infamous green beings of muscles. Their fascination with them had become downright annoying with the constant questions about their anatomy, fighting techniques, way of life. Orcs, we learned, were immune to magic, a trait that ultimately helped us gain the upper hand in the war.

“Yeah, he always looks like that,” Clint said. “Like he’s constipated.”

I scoffed, shaking my head. “I do not,” I retorted, walking forward. “And I’m not constipated either. I’m in perfectly good regulation according to my wolf.”

Leland threw his head back, laughing, and I couldn’t help but smile.

“Ah, he smiles from time to time. Usually about the mistress that visits his dreams.” Clint nudged the large green bolder. Sugha didn’t move, but a smirk crossed his face. The muscles of these beings were well defined, and they were large in stature, almost hitting eight feet tall. Their culture was vastly different from any other species of Bergarian that we had come to know, wearing hardly anything but leathers or loin cloths to cover their privates. The weapons they wore on their backs were either plain clubs or spiked clubs. Occasionally, we even saw one with an ax.
