In Step 6 I will create a mask to hide some of the unwanted paper texture. I have clicked on the Add layer mask icon at the base of the Layers panel.

I have selected the layer mask thumbnail and then selected the Brush tool from the Tools panel. I have set the foreground color to Black in the Tools panel (by pressing D and then X on the keyboard) and set the Opacity of the brush to 70% in the Options bar. I have chosen a soft-edged brush and then paint over any areas of the skin and hair that have unwanted texture. Brushing a second time should clean these areas nicely.
