Chapter 4

The dining room had filled up with the few dozen girls who were staying at the institute. I was happy to see Julia and grabbed the seat across from her.

“How is your treatment going?” I asked, eager to hear her experience, expecting something crazier than my own. And hoping it would give me the courage to do more.

“Dr. Hall is so obsessed with me. He wants me tied up in crazy positions so he can get to my ass better.”

“They haven’t put me in any crazy positions yet. Did it hurt?”

I was torn on the wanting more thing. What I had done so far had been relatively simple to what Julia described, but for me, it was a lot to take in.

“Dr. Fritz said I need something more extreme. I think I’m going to be sent to the blue wing.”

She looked unimpressed. “You’ll be fine. It’s probably some crazy bondage.”

That wouldn’t be so bad. I liked being tied up. But what if that meant they would push past my limits? I wasn’t sure what my limits actually were and I was kind of scared to find out.

Staring at a spot on the table, I took a bite of my sandwich.

An orderly marched right up to us out of nowhere, pulling me out of my thoughts.

“Come with me,” he said to Julia.

Two overly well-dressed men stood at the entrance of the room. I had heard some of the other girls talking about the people who donated to the institute. Wealthy with a taste for power and sexual deviance. It looked like those two had their eyes on Julia.

“I’m eating,” she said, paying them no mind.

“This man wants to have a word with you.”

One of the men stepped forward, almost antsy to be near her.

“You’re being picked by a donor,” I whispered.

“What the hell does that mean?”

She couldn’t be serious. Everyone had heard about the donors. She was just too cool to care.

“It means he wants you.”

“So?”

The orderly took her by the arm, practically dragging her away.

“Okay, I’m going!”

Lucky. No one wanted me. Maybe they heard I was too boring. Or maybe I looked too basic. My ex had wanted me to wear sexy lingerie, but I felt weird in it. Chubby cheeks and big round eyes were too cute for sex appeal.

Now with the ugly tunic, all I had was my attitude, which wasn’t saying much.

Julia came back to the table rolling her eyes.

“What happened?” I asked.

“I guess he’s gonna fuck me later.
