Thank you for reading! I hope you enjoyed this fun and filthy short as much as I enjoying writing it! As a special bonus, please enjoy this additional bonus story:
MY WIFE, ANOTHER WOMAN, AND ME
Celeb Crush
My wife, Kara, loves music. Itâs always playing and, thanks to the wonders of wireless technology, it follows us wherever we go. From the house, to the car, to the walls of my social media; when she gets excited about some new artist thereâs no missing it. Music is forever ingrained in my wifeâs life, and therefore itâs ingrained in mine.
â Karaâs borderline obsessive about her hunt for new bands, and once she finds something that she like she devours entire back catalogs in a matter of days. Itâs actually quite impressive the way that she consumes musical information.
â I, on the other hand, am a casual listener. I know what I like and I pretty much stuck to it, not really taking any sort of the pride in the artists that I know or donât know. Thanks to my wife, however, my knowledge of up and coming artists is well above average but itâs only due to the constant information run off. She drags me along to shows, of which there are plenty due to the fact that we live in Los Angeles, but I tend to get bored early and end up resting my feet at a stool by the bar while she goes crazy in the mosh pit.
â The funny thing is, you wouldnât really know it when looking at her. My wife isnât some kind of spiky haired, pierced up punk rocker, although sheâs got a few subtle tattoos from her college years. With her long blonde hair and absolutely incredible body, youâd probably expect her to be hanging out on a beach rather than fighting her way to the front of the stage at a rock and roll gig.
â Lately, sheâs been head over heels about a new band, called The Endless Loop. Theyâre a pretty raucous bunch of rock and roll women, but I have to admit I like the little bit that Iâve heard coming from the speakers of Karaâs laptop while she works. Itâs a strange blend of psychedelic prog-rock and modern punk thatâs weirdly easy to swallow given this brief summary. Thereâs an obvious edge, though, and I think thatâs what Kara likes.
â It almost seems to be about more than just the music with her. Kara reads interviews and knows the band memberâs history backwards and forewords. The lead singer of The Endless Loops is the background image on her phone.
â At least sheâs got good taste. The girl who fronts The Endless Loops is great looking in a bad-ass, leather jacket wearing kind of way. Iâd probably mind Karaâs obsession more if she was into fresh-faced teenybopper pop.
Weâre out to lunch one afternoon when the new Endless Loop single comes floating down from the restaurant speakers above. Kara immediately perks up and smiles.
â âOh my god,â she announces to me.
