CHAPTER 10

I justified to myself, on the way home, what I had just participated in.

I had participated minimally, I told myself.

A hand job, from a hooker I wasn't even paying, was the least-worst thing I could have done in that situation.

It wasn't really cheating.

I couldn't get a disease from it.

Really, it wasn't all that different from watching porn and jerking myself off.

But I knew that if Victoria found out, she would not see it that way.

I didn't like all the things that I had to keep secret from Victoria now. The money, and the lies to cover up the money, and now this.

My stomach was starting to hurt.

Not to mention that my cock had done nothing but swell, and my balls were aching and blue, because all I could see when I blinked was Irena's teasing face, or her tongue licking cum from Anna's lips...

“Fuck,” I muttered.

I had to make a payment on my Payday loan today, and I had no idea where I was going to get the money from. Things were mounting up; I was digging a hole I couldn't get out of.

Unless.

Unless I could get my hands on $15K.

The house was quiet when I got home. Lights out except upstairs.

I shut the door quietly behind me and almost immediately I heard the soft pad of Victoria's feet. She looked down at me from halfway up the stairs, and then nearly ran down.

“You scared me,” she said.

And then she surprised me by hugging me.

“I was too mad to call you,” she said. “But I'm glad you came home.”

I put my hand in her hair. “Victoria, I'm so sorry. I really am.”

I wasn't sure which thing I was apologizing for: certainly the money, but also the hand-job.

She pressed her forehead into my chest. “It's just...it's so much money and-”

“I know,” I said. “Believe me, I know, it's why I didn't tell you.”

She was about to start crying, I could tell. I could hear her breath breaking up into the beginnings of a sob.

“It could have happened to anyone,” she said. “I was unfair.”

What? Really?

I put my hand on her head.

I had no idea what to say.

“You were just getting egged on by Brad...we both...we all did some naughty things in Vegas. Let's just..leave it. I don't...I don't want to fight with you.” She sighed. “It's a lot of money, but it's...it's not the end of the world. I'm just glad you didn't lose that much of it.”

Now was the time, I realized. Now was the time to tell her everything.

Tell. Her. About. The money. The moans. The credit card, my conscience urged. Tell her about your lost sales, that we're broke, that you need to take Gus out of Montessori...

But in some other part of my mind, a bad little part of my brain was formulating a plan.

I could keep the credit card bill away from her. I paid it, she never looked at it.

Everything else was out in the open. I could tell her about the Payday loans, I could pay them off, and I could keep everything else a secret until I got the money.
