Suzanne and her friend Beth spent an afternoon doing the collage technique. They met at Suzanneâs house and pooled their old magazines. As each thought of her own project (Suzanne wanted a new man in her life and Beth wanted a new job) and chose pictures, she also helped her friend. Suzanne asked Beth to point out any pictures of weddings she found.
âOkay,â said Beth. âAnd let me know if you come across the word âmanager.ââ It was enjoyable to work on the collages together. When they each finished and taken time away from the technique, they got back together and analyzed their work. Between the two of them, Suzanne and Beth could figure out the meanings of all the symbols in both collages.
By identifying the beliefs and attitudes that exist in your subconscious, you bring them from the subconscious to the conscious: once you are aware of them, they are no longer hidden. Now you can deliberately change them, and your worldâwhat you observeâwill reflect the changes.
Your subconscious mind will automatically play out the details of your life for you, based on whatever program it holds. If you take charge and direct whatâs in there, the subconscious will create your life, and your world will be what youâve chosen.
When unexpected or unwanted events occur in your world, itâs because of some program(s) in the subconscious, of which you probably were not aware. The more mindful you can be about what the subconscious mind contains, the more deliberate you can be about taking charge of what happens. As a result, your world and your life can be more to your liking.
You can also be responsible by taking control of what goes into your subconscious mind today. Whenever you hear a negative or limiting comment, such as âYouâll never make it on time,â or âLife is just one big struggle,â or one I heard in a line for the cash register, âLife is about waiting,â tell yourself, âItâs not true.â Say the words âCancel, cancel.â That command tells your subconscious not to take the comment in and make it part of the pattern for your life. Responsibility for what you allow to enter your subconscious, becoming part of the template for your life and your world includes everything you hear, even what is said on TV or the radio. âCancel, cancel,â works to negate anything, whether you catch yourself singing a dismal blues song or the news anchor (or an insurance company) makes dire predictions about potential disasters.
