Step 6: My rose is missing the romantic element I imagined in the beginning. What is more romantic than a old, handwritten love letter? You can either write by yourself or scan a letter. You can buy them in bundles at the flea market (if you can find them), or just search for free textures online. My original letter was written with black ink on yellow paper. I cropped the script by using the “Magic Wand Tool” and inverted it from black to white. I set the script-layer to “Soft Light”. The script now layered also the rose, so I copied the mask (Note that you only activate the thumbnail from the mask) from the texture-layer. For this I pressed “Alt” and the left mouse-button to Drag & Drop the mask to the script-layer. Again I cropped the blossom with a soft brush to add transparence to this area.
