Summary:
Probably the most well-known app I will feature in the book is Candy Crush. If you havenât heard of it, Candy Crush is a matching puzzle app played by millions. There are a variety of types of levels, each with different goals. Some examples are Target Score, Timed Level, and Drop-Down Mode. There is also a huge variety of obstacles inside each level, each acting in a different way to make things difficult for you.
Graphics and Sound:
Candy Crush has lots of bright colors and sounds to the game, and is equably enjoyable for kids to play as well as adults. The various power-ups also light up the screen to destroy all of your obstacles, which can be very gratifying.
Gameplay, Replay Value, and Stability:
The gameplay is simple, as all you have to do is swipe and make matches. The game gets very difficult as you move on however, and requires power-ups to progress in lots of the harder levels. You do earn power-ups by playing daily, but the hardcore players will need to spend money to continually progress. Regardless of the pace you set, with thousands and thousands of levels, youâll never run out of gameplay. Furthermore, there are levels being added every two weeks.
Overall:
Candy Crush is popular for a very good reason. It is kid and adult friendly. It is partially skill based but easy to pick up, with luck playing a factor at times. There is an unlimited potential for gameplay, with a huge variety of levels to play. And lastly, it doesnât require you to spend any money unless you really want to. Skill and money can help you progress faster and avoid the frustration of getting stuck, but it is not necessary to continue to enjoy the game for many years to come.
