“Wow,” Bess said, combing her fingers through her hair, “Gemma sure is jealous of Rhoda.”

“Yes, but jealous enough to risk going to jail by setting fires and damaging Rhoda"s property?” Nancy asked. After tucking her pack into the backseat, she started the car and backed out of the parking spot.

“Anyway, Gemma"s right about the bandannas. Just because she has the same ones doesn"t mean she started the fire. We need more solid evidence.”

“That stinks,” Bess observed. She reached into her shorts pocket and pulled out the note paper she"d brought from Rhoda"s office. “Well,” she said, tapping a finger at the second address on the sheet, “maybe we"ll have better luck at Bruce Pennington"s office.”
