CHAPTER NINE

Serenity

HAPPY VISIT

I blink awake at the sudden feeling of loneliness. I’m used to sleeping by myself so I don’t understand why the feeling would be so unnerving.

Draven.

I fell asleep in his arms and wake up to them no longer around me. I jolt upright and twist to look at the now empty side of my bed. He’s gone. Draven left. I stretch as a yawn escapes my lips. I haven't slept that good in… well, forever. I climb out of bed and slip on my house shoes and make my way to the bathroom. I take care of business while waiting for the shower water to get hot. Once I’m under the spray, I don’t want to leave. It feels magical, the heat warming my bones and soothing my muscles.

I shampoo and condition my hair, watching as the suds go down the drain. I take my loofah sponge and pour out a generous amount of strawberry body gel. I begin to lather my body with the scented soap, and then use the shower head to clean them off. I have classes this morning, otherwise I would relieve the built-up sexual tension I seem to have a lot lately, especially when my mind wanders to a certain dark-haired funhouse clown. I take a deep sigh and step out dripping water on the black and white tile floor. I wrap a fluffy tan towel around me.

I brush out my hair and throw it up into a messy bun before finding a cute matching underwear and bra set. I choose a T-shirt and a pair of tight jeans and throw on a pair of black flats to finish my look. No extra effort today. My book bag has everything I need, so I grab my keys, my phone, and an apple and head to my biology class.
