First thing I see peering at me over the couch when we step back in is Libra. Adorably and preciously having only her eyes visible over the back of the couch. If she knew how cute she was, she'd be doing this constantly...So I am careful to not say a damn thing about it.

"Your task took substantially longer than anticipated."

"Don't you bullshit me. You were listening in on us with magic, weren't you?"

Her face pops as her head jolts up and then quickly slinks down to be entirely hidden by the couch from my view.

"There were...various concerns..."

Hydra walks past our awkward near-psycho conversation to set her half of the pizza boxes on the kitchen counter as I follow.

"Mmmhmm. Trust is a bitch to have, isn't it?"

"Inaccurate! I did not suspect any intention of the betrayal of my trust...Rather...My concerns were of a more...petty nature."

I slide out of the kitchen to stand over the back of the couch and peer down at the tiny thing hiding it's face from me aside some seldom glances upward.

"Such as?"

Hydra, shut your snickering up...Rebecca, do SOMETHING. Have SOME reaction to this other than awkward confusion...Which one of you already turned the game on? I...need to know that right now actually.

"I was concerned relevant matters would be discussed that I would be unintentionally excluded from."

"Ya huh. And that's gonna happen."

"Accurate...Some amount of distinction is preferable in our associations and experiences...Minor apologies."

Hydra chimes in on that note.

"Oh? Only minor?"

"Accurate. The information obtained has been delightful in this instance...I am...requesting that my action was not entirely unacceptable at this time..."

This is the actual guiltiest I have ever seen you look. You're not even fully making eye contact with me for once. You're so legitimately embarrassed that you were being so insecure and nervous.

"Well, it's not like I want to hide anything from you...But this is pretty much on par with just outright reading my mind...What if Hydra and I were planning a surprise for you? You'd have ruined your own surprise."

"...Accurate...That is a...pleasant possibility of it being a poor decision on my part."

"Pleasant...possibility?"

Rebecca, just...JUST stay quiet until your brain grows more. I'm HOPING you're not so stupid that Libra's...really...awkward way of talking...Mmmm...

I've gotten used to it, but I guess I can't be mad at anyone else for not entirely understanding her because of just how...absurdly awkward she is.

"Sasha isn't the kind of person to hold a grudge."

You BARELY know me. You SO don't have the right to say that, even if you're entirely correct...Especially if you're entirely correct.

...Huh, yeah...I accepted Hydra as a best friend, but why the hell did I do that? That's actually weird. We've like...barely talked...But also I thought she was cool from the start...And she didn't ostracize me for that nightmarishly awkward way we met.

"That's what you were getting at, right? That it could have been something way worse to overhear? Or rather...That overhearing in itself would be the thing that gets you in deep shit?"

But also thank you for being able to understand what Libra meant.
