CHAPTER TWENTY-FOUR

FR. PETER COSSA woke up early Wednesday morning with a lot on his mind. He hadn’t slept well the night before; a call from his sister Emily made him concerned that questions surrounding Fr. Hart‘s death, seemingly answered with the suicide of Christopher Mitchell, might still be hanging over Chatham like the fog off its shores.

Even though he had played back his conversation with Emily multiple times before finally falling asleep the previous night, he couldn‘t help but start over again this morning.
