An order dated 4 July 1930 announcing the removal of Justices Coldstream and Agha Haider ‘for reasons of health’. Previously unpublished.

The accused now agreed to return to the courtroom. When they did so, on 23 June 1930, they found the Tribunal presided over by Justice Hilton. Given that he too had been a party to the order of 12 May 1930, the accused demanded that if the trial was to proceed he too must apologise and dissociate himself from the order. Within a few days, Bhagat Singh had complained in writing to the commissioner of the Tribunal to this effect:
