A young boy approached his father, a manager at a retail shop. The father was engrossed in his newspaper but the boy said he needed to speak about something important.

‘Dad,’ he said, ‘you know Johnny, whose father is a famous surgeon?’

‘Yes, what about him?’

‘Well, he failed.’

‘Too bad!’ And he went back to his newspaper.

A minute later, the boy pulled the newspaper down a bit, looking at his father.

‘And you know Ronny, whose father is a top lawyer? He also failed!’

‘That’s sad,’ the father replied. ‘Hey, isn’t your result out today too? How did you fare?’

‘Even Bob, whose father is a professor and a PhD in physics, failed!’

‘Stop telling me about your friends who failed!’ the father yelled, putting aside his newspaper. ‘Tell me your result! Now!’

‘Oh come on! The son of a surgeon failed. The son of a brilliant lawyer failed and that of a bright professor. What are you, an Einstein, that your son will pass?’
