That’s what we do in the desert.

I love it most when I’m asleep.

I don’t like it under the sun, with a desert bird to escape from.

I don’t like it unless my sisters love me.

And they do, but I forget.

When they don’t wake up I forget.

Then there’s only my mother on her knees with her apron lifted to catch the world if it goes wrong.

It went wrong and she didn’t catch it.

The desert bird opened its beak and I got dizzy. This way I feel.
