Chapter Six

They’d been on the road for a total of six weeks, during which time, Gia and Sin’s affair had stayed under the radar with only the occasional rumor hitting the press. Gia suspected that the silence had to do with the road crew covering for her at Wade’s request because of her stalker. No one wanted a repeat of that terrifying situation, so no one breathed a word of the fact that Sin spent his nights in her suite. Calling attention to her relationship with her opening act was the sort of publicity that tended to draw out the lunatics. In the past, every time her name had been linked with a man, no matter how briefly—and they were all brief—threats had cropped up. Most had been traced to Reinhardt but since his imprisonment and the advent of copycats, no one wanted to risk Gia’s life when they could just keep silent.

They were coming up on their first break in the tour and Gia wondered how to spend it and still keep her relationship with Sin a secret. In truth, she didn’t want to keep it a secret anymore. She’d rather be able to hold his hand and kiss him whenever she felt like it. Staying on the “down low” had become seriously annoying.

She’d pretty much acknowledged to herself that she’d totally fallen for Sinclair Carstens. She thought about him constantly. Whenever they were apart all she could think about was seeing him again. She couldn’t keep her hands off him either. She’d always been a highly sexual person, but being in love with Sin had kicked that up a few notches to the point that it seemed her panties were constantly drenched. With the break coming and time off just around the corner, Gia feared that her fling with Sin would end when they all went their separate ways for three weeks.

When they arrived in Chicago it was late and they’d gone straight to bed, curled around each other and fallen fast asleep. Gia had awoken with Sin’s cock pressing into her from behind, filling her so full she could barely breathe. Their coupling was slow and sweet and made her heart ache with love. She clung to him, not wanting to let him go, not wanting to lose the most incredible man she’d ever known. He must have sensed her raging emotions, because he held her more tenderly than he usually did and murmured soft endearments in her ears.

Finally, Gia got up and went to soak in a hot shower. She had sore muscles and aching joints from all the strenuous nights of playing to sold-out crowds. The road was a hard life and as much as Gia loved it, she hated it in equal parts, and her body complained daily about the abuse she put it through. When she turned off the water, she heard a piano playing. The music drifted toward her, calling to her. She toweled off and wrapped herself in a thick hotel robe.
