Chapter 4: Calculating Poker Odds

After knowing how many outs are available to you, you need to calculate your odds. Do not forget to include only “good outs”. To simplify it, pot odds means what is in the pot is enough for you to call a bet. Poker odds give you the probability of winning any hand. In short, poker odds express the probability of getting a good card over a bad card (winning odds), or the size of the pot in comparison to the bet size (pot odds). Understanding the pot odds concept helps you differentiate between good bets and bad bets.

You can use several ways to crunch poker numbers and establish your chances of winning a hand and taking the prize. Let us discuss pot odds.
