Wednesday, 29 September 1943 – The Barneveld Camp for privileged Jews was closed and all were transferred to Westerbork, including the family of Alfred Drukker.

On the same day following raids and the closing of the Joodse Raad, Amsterdam was declared “Jew Free” apart from all of those hiding in safe houses.

The Sicherheitspolizei were angling for the 7,000 Jews employed as part of the Joodse Raad to be handed over. On Wednesday, 29 September1943, the eve of Rosh Hashana, the New Year, about 2,000 Jews, including members and leaders of the council, were arrested and sent to Westerbork. That really was the end of the Jewish Council in Amsterdam.
