Not surprisingly, through the progression of a change initiative from initiation to full implementation, multiple kinds of concerns may appear at once. Usually, however, there will be a predominant category that a majority of teachers are exhibiting at a given time (Hall & Hord, 2001).

A detailed set of Hall and Hord's seven Stages of Concern is provided in Figure 4.5. Note that the descriptions include the category of concern as well as how expressions of each stage might sound to the leader responsible for implementing differentiation.
