Chapter Seven

An hour later, the men all waited for the women to show. The priest was speaking softly with Yuri when Pepper came to the door of the living room. She looked nervous for a moment, then calmed as she met her husband’s eyes. She gave him a smile and announced, “We’re ready.”

The men all lined up and the Priest took his place.

Kosta turned and watched as Salt came into the room. He caught his breath as he saw her coming toward him. She looked so beautiful. She was wearing what must be one of Raven’s dresses and they had done her hair, pulling it back into a bun. She wore a little makeup and it highlighted her face rather than set it off. He much preferred her natural look but this was perfect.

The dress was perfect as well. It was low cut and tighter on Salt than it was on Raven. He growled when he got the full view of her. She was stunning and after tonight, she would belong to him with ties stronger than ever before. He knew this was a rushed thing but it made him feel happier than he had ever remembered feeling before.

He would give her his name, his, protection along with his body and his soul. With no regrets.

He smiled as she drew close to him and he leaned down to brush her lips with his own. “You look beautiful,” he whispered.

Salt took a moment to look at him. The suit he was in fit it to a T and the soft blue of the shirt with the darker blue of his tie blended so well, that he made them look good. His shoulders and chest were so broad and his body was solid. Damn, he looked very good indeed. Then she remembered what was underneath his clothes and she could barely breathe. “So do you.” She whispered back.

“A man is not beautiful, he might be handsome but not beautiful.” He smiled.

“Are you sure you want this?” she asked again.

“More than I’ve ever wanted anything,” he assured her.

She took a deep breath and exhaled. “Ok the, let’s do this.” She began to turn but then looked back at him. “And that is not true you know. You are beautiful. A bear but beautiful.”

Kosta chuckled at her getting the last word in again and they both turned to face the Priest as the ceremony began.

Yuri had requested the ceremony be done in English, as he was unaware if Salt knew Russian.

Before the priest began the ceremony began, Salt turned and looked at him. She saw the question in his eyes and she had to smile. “I just wanted you to know that I do love you and I don’t say those words lightly. In the few short days, we’ve known each other, I have come to love you very much.”

Kosta stared into her eyes. “And I love you. We were meant to be here, maybe not so soon, but we were meant to be together like this.
