Chapter 20

“How did you come up with crafting such a house, Furball?” Tarrion asked, us waiting for the new meat to cook.

“Ah, well… I thought it’d be comfier to sleep inside the tent rather than on the ground,” I said.

“Tent? Why do you call it a ‘tent’?” Tarrion asked.

“Oh… That’s because…” I wanted to say something but I had no idea why a tent was called a ‘tent’ myself. “That’s… that’s the name it was given when I crafted it.”

“Ok,” Tarrion accepted it without any additional fuss.

“It’s a good name. Easy to remember,” added Alragus, rubbing his beard. “I was wondering why you needed those metal sticks to be crafted, Rockin. Now I know.”

“Yeah. My Crafting skill allows me to craft different things, but it does not look like I would be able to work with metal,” I said, thinking about it.

“Your Crafting skill is something else, Furball. You can craft armor, hammocks, potions and now tent. Never met anyone with such versatile Crafting skill. It must be a Unique Crafting skill too, just like your Overgrowth skill,” Tarrion made an observation.

“I… really doubt that,” I said.

“Anyway, how about we take stock of our food and water to see how long we’ll be able to stay in the dungeon?” Tarrion suggested next.

“Good idea. I’ll go check with the women,” I said before standing up.

The three of us were sitting a short distance away from where the women were. The women insisted on cooking the meat for us and I was certain there were things they wanted to talk among themselves too, so we agreed to it. However, knowing how long we’ll be able to stay in the dungeon was important, so I had to interrupt their conversation, whatever they were talking about, to ask them to check how much water and food they had on them, jotting it down on my notebook before returning to Tarrion and Alragus. During the time I was checking with the women, Tarrion and Alragus have checked their inventory as well, letting me know what they had once I came back. When I added it all up, we estimated that we had enough food to last us a month at minimum just because we had collected loads of Carnabbit and Rhaki meat on the way here. But when I added how much water we had, it amounted to about two weeks supply at best, maybe even less than that.

“Damn, we should’ve brought more water,” Tarrion said after learning what we had.

“Sorry, I should’ve brought more with me too,” Alragus apologized.

“Hey, don’t worry. We took our time coming to the eighth floor and we didn’t plan in advance for how long we’d be staying. Of course, we could be a bit more frugal with water, but if we skimp and not hydrate enough, it might affect our strength or even our health. We’re here to fight monsters after all. Besides, maybe we’ll be lucky and find a Secret Area which has water supply in it,” I told the two of them, trying to keep the optimistic vibe.
