Home Defense

In the home defense category, there aren't any real size constraints for the firearm, so we recommend a full sized gun. Not only will they hold more rounds, but they will also absorb more of the recoil and be a bit more comfortable to shoot larger caliber rounds.

As for the type of gun, we would recommend a semi-auto, again for the capacity and reloading advantages. With a full-size gun especially, capacity makes a big deal in the overall performance of a gun in a high pressure home invasion situation. Some full sized guns can hold up to 19 rounds of ammo, which is a massive difference from the 5 to 6 that a revolver would hold. Plus, in a high-pressure home invasion, the last thing you want to be doing is fumbling with reloading individual rounds into a revolver cylinder.
