“It took a lot of work to get here—should we take a commemorative photo?”

The venue’s chatter was at full blast again, and most guests were good and well drunk by now. At this point, the event, ostensibly an art exhibit, could no longer be meaningfully distinguished from a party. The advertising company’s representative, director Oosaki, held his phone up and gave out instructions.

“Everyone, gather up in front of the panel. I’ll have my worker take the picture...”

The panel in question was the exhibit’s “main event,” the large panel featuring Yunosagi’s Bonbori Festival, and the younger Sakura Mariko photographed there.

“Sakura-san and Anjou-san, we’d certainly love for you to join us!”

At Oosaki’s behest, Mariko exchanged nods with her husband and pulled a cell phone from her handbag.

“Would it be okay to take the picture with my phone?”

“Of course, are you okay with texting it out to everyone?”

The couple’s silent manager didn’t bother to hide the discomfort that permeated his face in reaction to the subordinate’s question, but Mariko responded coolly.

“Yes, it’s a commemorative photo for everyone here after all, so it should be okay. I also want one, as well. Will that be okay, Iida-san?”

The manager, whose name was finally revealed to be Iida, was assailed by Mariko’s radiant smile, and he gave his silent consent without hiding his reluctance, either.

“Alright, then let’s have our sponsors and the family centered in front of the display. Sakura-san, Anjou-san, you can be on the ends—hey, Ohana-chan and the boyfriend, hurry up and get in, too!”

The cameraman began barking out everybody’s positions, which stirred up nearby onlookers who noticed the photo being taken.

“Hey now, what about us?”

“Is it just people connected to Matsumate Ayato who get to take a picture with Sakura-san’s entourage?”

“I want a picture, too!”

Voices filled with demands and discontent rang out as another crowd formed around them.

“What do you think, Oosaki-san? There’s no way we could fit this many people into frame.” As his overwhelmed worker turned to Oosaki with a troubled look, Mariko stepped forward with a flippant declaration.

“Let’s just have everyone line up for group photos, then.”

A large applause erupted following the beloved actress’s charitable solution, after which Mariko and Anjou, in sociable fashion, participated in numerous photoshoots with the attendees. They all shared the same composition, the subjects standing in front of the panel with Mariko’s photos centered between them.

“She’s always been a beautiful person.”

Satsuki, watching the present Mariko posing next to the pictures of her younger self, compared the two and whispered this earnest appraisal to herself.

“Even against that gorgeous backdrop, it’s like she has an aura that can’t be matched by anything else.”

“...They really are amazing photos, though.”

Kouichi nodded from Ohana’s side in response to her own hushed response.

“And this is probably closer to the Yunosagi I’ve seen.” For Kouichi, his most vivid memory of Yunosagi was one in which the town was illuminated by bonbori, just like the photos.

“Let’s go again someday...”

Ohana, her heart filled with her feelings from that nostalgic night at the Bonbori Festival, smiled softly as looked again at the wishing plate in the young woman’s hand.
