Traditional soy sauce is brewed with wheat. Tamari soy sauce, on the other hand, is soy sauce made with little or no wheat. That means it’s still important to check the label to make sure the soy sauce is gluten free. Traditional soy sauce and tamari soy sauce have a similar flavor, although tamari soy sauce is slightly thicker and darker.
