“Did you say Arizona?” Marta shouted over the alarms. “What’s in Arizona?”

“Our new server farm.” Fred raised a cup and they toasted.

Marta glanced at her bracelet and began typing out commands. The alarms went silent and their shoulders collectively relaxed. “Thank you, Mr. Chen.”

The servers started coming back to life, and images of Entriss began popping up on the monitors.

Fred leaned in and shook his head. “Huh.”

“What is it?”

“I figured the reboot would enable full immersion in Rath but look.” He pointed at the less-than-real graphics. “They’re still on version one. So what’s the server farm in Arizona for?”

Marta sifted through logs and stopped to whistle. “You’re not going to believe this one.”
