A) Osage orange bow with painted belly. Two-ply sinew string. B & C) Three straight shaft grooves painted red, blue, and green on each arrow.

Kiowa

A & B) Dogwood shafts, three straight grooves, eagle feather fletching. Teeth marks on arrows from holding shafts in mouth while straightening. Shafts stained with laundry bluing. Front of shafts tapered. C) Osage orange bow, some sapwood left on back. Center pith of branch shows in handle area of belly. Knob on upper tip for horsehair tassel. (YC)
