386 In verbis: âIn doing so, the legislature has to take into account that the ban on extradition is precisely supposed to protect, inter alia, the principles of legal certainty and protection of public confidence as regards Germans who are affected by extradition. The confidence of the prosecuted person in his or her own legal system is protected in a particular manner by Article 16.2 of the Basic Law precisely where the act on which the request for extradition is based shows a significant connecting factor to a foreign countryâ.
