This documentary describes the Israeli-Lebanon War (1982–5) as reflected through the eyes of Israeli combat soldiers. The letters and diaries of the soldiers are narrated against newsreel footage from Israeli and foreign television, revealing confusion, rage and fear, and construe an emotional dissonance in the face of the dry reports of the media. This documentary was inspired by an American film that was based on letters from Vietnam and is dedicated to the memory of the 654 soldiers who died in the Middle East war.
