In the diagram, Sensing is clearly developed and is the dominant but Thinking and Feeling are unclear. As a result, she was left with no alternative but to rely on the Sensing function most of the time. Thinking and Feeling were not so reliable. This is one way in which overuse of a function can occur.
One way in which a Jungian function can be overused is because the dominant (main) function is relied on too much. This is the case for the person in the mental health facility. Another way is for the auxiliary (the second function) to be over-used as in my case of the female client. Even so, this does not exhaust the type of conditions that can exist for a function to be overused.
