ANOTHER ENVELOPE sat filled and sealed, though this one didn’t have a name written in his scrawling, deceptive script across the front. This time it didn’t need one.

Madison Huff had gotten the story.

Sean St. Claire had gotten the pictures.

And this one would make sure the gloves were truly off.

“YOU KNOW, there are actually quite a few names that match on our list for Carroway and Welch,” Mark said plainly, breaking a silence that had, not unexpectedly, fallen and bringing Tyler’s gaze up from the papers in front of him. “Besides Jason Young, that is.”

Tyler hadn’t been surprised to find Jason Young’s name in Jamie Carroway’s file. He had already known they had the common factor of Stripes between them. Three-and-a-half years of working with Tyler had also apparently given Mark the ability to read minds, since it wasn’t necessary for Tyler to point it out for Mark to begin glancing through his notes.

And he answered Tyler’s question before Tyler could ask it.

“Yeah, according to this, all but one of them lists Stripes as a regular hangout.”
