It has two satellites namely: Phobos and Deimos, which are actually two captured meteorites orbiting the planet.

Mars usually appears to the naked eye as distinctly yellow, orange, or red; the actual color of Mars is closer to that of the color of butterscotch ice-cream. It has an elliptic orbit so its magnitude of luminosity varies. One interesting fact is that Mars exhibits retrograde motion which means that it can appear to move backwards in looping motion as you approach closer it.
