As sponsors, we may face situations we do not know how to handle. Often prayer and meditation will give us insights. Another way to handle these predicaments is to ask other experienced members of the fellowship what they would do.

Our role is to tell other people what worked for us, not to tell them what to do. When we share our own experiences, we stay in our lane; it’s the work of the other person to decide what will work for them.

The manner in which we carry the message is not as important as the fact that we carry it. Passing the message along not only keeps us from returning to use, or relapsing, but it also gives us a great deal of satisfaction because we know that we are helping others recover from our shared disease.
