3.6.3 Ushers

Have people ready to spot and greet speakers and get them poised ready to go up at the right time. Ushers can also be great for encouraging people to take their seats so that talks get started promptly. It's also a good idea to have the ushers congratulate the speakers as soon as they leave the stage.

3.6.4 AV support

Each room needs someone helping with Audio-Visual, ensuring the transition between speakers goes smoothly (including ensuring people have clip-mics switched off if they go for a last minute bathroom visit before going on stage!).

Ideally, AV support will help speakers test things early, so these volunteers should be in place an hour before the conference is due to start to catch those who are super-prepared.
