STIRRUP CUP

1½ oz. brandy

1½ oz. Cherry Heering

1 tsp. sugar

½ oz. fresh lemon juice

1 maraschino cherry

Dissolve the sugar in a little bit of water at the bottom of a cocktail shaker or mixing glass. Add the lemon juice and the two brandies. Add crushed ice and stir well. Strain into a cocktail glass and drop in the cherry.

Come up with clever ways of combining all of Gertrude’s patronages for a party, such as an Irish mouse dressed for a funeral and carrying flowers about to mount a horse.
