Case-control studies of pesticide applicators have focused on soft-tissue sarcoma and malignant lymphoma. Studies on soft-tissue sarcoma may be divided into those done by Hardell and those done by others. Studies by Hardell reported very high relative risks, with the exception of the study co-authored by Adami. Even this study needs careful interpretation due to small numbers (low statistical power), multiple comparisons and possible differential misclassification of exposure.
