PART SIX

“To fear love is to fear life.”

Bertrand Russell

THIS WAY NINE MONTHS had already passed, with some moments harder than others, but little by little they were overcoming the situation. However, Julian's father, whose age had already come upon him, was getting sicker every day and had reached the point where the young man had to take care of everything in the business, he no longer had the free time he had before, which often made communication between the couple somewhat difficult.

For her part, Susana was quite concentrated in her studies and to help herself financially, she got a part-time job for a few hours a week, so she would have enough money to cover all her needs.

Without realizing it, the couple had gradually distanced themselves, even though they did not want it and even though they really loved each other, the difficult and busy life they both led had, little by little, driven them away.

In fact, it was no longer clear at what point the relationship was, or whether, in fact, a relationship still existed. Finally, upon learning that she would have a few days off at the university, she decided to visit her parents and thus take the time to see Julian and define what was happening in the relationship.

She arrived in the city, went home and as soon as her parents left her free after a long conversation to find out how life was treating her in this new rhythm she was carrying, she decided to go to the restaurant to talk with Julian. Something that was not very promising and full of questions, but it was necessary to define the future of their relationship.

Both with a sad look and a deep love, talked with a sincere heart and decided to distance their lives, even when they felt that love still existed, they knew that these circumstances did not help them and that they could not expect more than they could actually give, this situation would only make them feel incomplete, unhappy and dissatisfied.

-I only hope you get someone to fill your life, because I love you and I know you deserve the best, said Julian, very sad, while caressing Susana's cheek, soaked in tears.

-I don't know how I'm going to stop thinking about you, but it seems that destiny insists on separating us. I know you'll be very happy. I love you, replied Susana with great pain and sadness in her chest.

So, the two decided to go on with their lives. Susana returned to the university campus and Julian remained in charge of her business, highly dedicated to his father and the success of the restaurant.

Each one living the day to day, at first quite sad, but the distance helped them to heal the emptiness they both felt and with the passage of time, the two managed to concentrate again on their goals and forget such pain of love.

Susana, dedicated to her studies, was almost finishing her career and was happy to be about to reach her greatest goal.
